Now, we’re here again. Square one on another photoblog. This time, all self-hosted by yours truly. This page is being hosted on a WordPress docker container running on Unraid on a litte NAS in my home office.
What I enjoy about this setup is everything is on me. No subscriptions, no yearly payments, no nothing. I mean it does cost me electricity and drive space, but you get the point lol.
It seems that my favorite blogs were the most convenient. My most recent one was on Squarespace, but i didn’t enjoy posting there all that much as it wasnt intuitive or convenient at all for myself and for the viewer. I feel that Squarespace is great for portfolios, but not so much for photoblogs. The only issue I’m running into with WordPress is adjusting the maximum upload filesize. I’ve tried modifying multiple files, but still have the limitation. Any help is much appreaciated!
I’ve recently aquired a Leica Q2 which has inspired me to shoot more. With shooting more, I’ve been wanting to post more of my work. However, Instagram just ain’t it and having a proper photoblog will be king — and this is why we’re here 😎 I may not be as tryhard as my other blogs and just post strait out of camera jpegs, but it’s better than nothing!
